The Razor Trending Line, a.k.a. "The Razor", is shown on our Live Chart feeds for ES Emini subscribers. It is displayed on the lower right of the screen on a white background for easy viewing and reference. I use this everyday to assist my personal ES charts.

When the market is trending Intraday, this is an excellent tool to follow a trend. The calculation may change slightly depending on volatility but follows the same basic format. We watch it for 'closes above or below the blue line' to signify a trend change or continuation of a current trend.

The Razor will help you to stay in a trending trade longer - you know - the ones that we all tend to get out of too early!

The Razor works very well hand-in-hand with the FAST CHART alerts (the chart on the left of your screen) to confirm trend changes. Both of these charts can be worked together for much more accurate readings and are very effective when used together with Candlestick patterns.

How to use it: You will find that the Razor often will track the trend almost like it is leading price. Once price crosses to the other side of the line - and Closes there - the trend is then likely to reverse. This is the signal that you are looking for with the Razor, aptly named because it can cut losses and add significant gains for you.

Do not use it: On days where the markets are choppy or trading sideways. The Razor is not the best indicator during these times because it needs solid moving data to provide a usable line. Non-trending days are exactly that, they are non-trending.
